Description
Mecobalamin is the neurologically active form of vitamin B12 and occurs as a water-soluble vitamin in the body. It is a cofactor in the enzyme methionine synthase, which functions to transfer methyl groups for the regeneration of methionine from homocysteine. In anaemia, it increases erythrocyte production by promoting nucleic acid synthesis in the bone marrow and by promoting maturation and division of erythrocytes.
(Vitamin B12 play a key role in the normal functioning of the brain and nervous system and the formation of blood. Vitamin B12 is normally involved in several metabolisms such as DNA synthesis and regulation, fatty acid synthesis, and energy production. Vitamin B12 has some analogs including cyanocobalamin (CNCbl), methylcobalamin (MeCbl), hydroxocobalamin (OHCbl), and adenosylcobalamin (AdoCbl). In mammalian cells, CNCbl and OHCbl are inactive forms and AdoCbl acts as a coenzyme of methylmalonyl Co-A mutase in mitochondria. However, vitamin B12 was not used directly in human body, and it should be translated into activating forms such as MeCbl or AdoCbl. MeCbl differs from vitamin B12 in that the cyanide is replaced by a methyl group. It is a coenzyme of methionine synthase, which is required for the formation of methionine from homocysteine in the methylation cycle which involves methylation of DNA or proteins. Compared with other analogs, MeCbl is the most effective one in being uptaken by subcellular organelles of neurons. Therefore, MeCbl may provide better treatments for nervous disorders through effective systemic or local delivery.)
MECOBALAMIN: Nutrient vitamin B12 is scientifically known as Mecobalamin, used as a dietary supplement and to treat certain anemias. It plays an important role in helping the body makes RBCs.
FOLIC ACID: Folic Acid is used in preventing & treating low blood levels of Folate as well as its complications including “tired blood”(anemia) and the inability of the bowel to absorb nutrients properly. ALPHA-LIPOIC ACID: Alpha lipoic acid seems to help prevent certain kinds of cell damage in the body, and also restores vitamin levels such as vitamin E and vitamin C. There is also evidence that alpha-lipoic acid can improve the function and conduction of neurons in diabetes.
Alpha-lipoic acid is used in the body to break down carbohydrates and to make energy for the other organs in the body.
Alpha-lipoic acid seems to work as an antioxidant, which means that it might provide protection to the brain under conditions of damage or injury. The antioxidant effects might also be helpful in certain liver diseases.
How many tablets/capsules does one pack of EL MECOBIN capsule contain?
It contains 30 capsules per pack. It is recommended to take one or two tablets/capsules per day.
How long does it take to experience any benefit?
Results vary amongst individuals. There is no maximum length of time over which EL MECOBIN tablet/capsule may be used. A regular intake is recommended.
Some Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA)* levels are above 100%, is this safe?
